St. Louis at San Diego

St. Louis escaped from Los Angeles with one win out of four and now the Cardinals hopefully will face some lighter competition after blowing a 4-0 lead on Sunday night and losing 5-4 to the Dodgers. Kyle Gibson will get the start and he comes off a 15-9 season in 2023 with Baltimore. He was 9-4 in road games with a 1.26 WHIP and he started off with a 3-0 April. San Diego split four games with San Francisco, but the pitching was suspect as the Giants scored 25 runs in the four games. The Padres overcame that with a 13-4 win on Sunday after jumping out to a 9-0 lead. Matt Waldron goes for the Padres and he appeared in eight games last season and finished 1-3 with a 4.35 ERA.
