St. Louis has won three of Michael Wacha's last four starts and he has a 2.75 ERA in September. He;s also toting a 2.89 ERA against the Pirates this season in three appearances. St. Louis has won 20 of Wacha's last 27 starts against losing teams, including six of his last seven road starts in that situation. The Cardinals are making a late run for a playoff spot and won their third in a row on Thursday beating the Reds 8-5 as Dexter Fowler had three hits and two RBIs. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has packed it in for the year and has lost 12 of its last 14 games and four of its last five home contests. Ivan Nova has lost his last four starts and the Pirates have lost those games by a combined score of 35-9. Nova got off to a good start this season, but he is 2-8 with a 6.22 ERA since the All-Star break and he has a 4.82 ERA versus St. Louis in three starts. Play the Cardinals.
