St. Louis scored seven runs in the 11th on Wednesday night to hand the Phillies their 12th loss in 13 games. The Phillies are in last place in the NL East, 20 games out of first and 13-19 at home. The Cardinals have won the last five meetings and and eight of the last nine. Michael Wacha beat the Phillies 3-2 on June 9 when he allowed only two runs on five hits in six innings. He made one appearance against Philliy in 2016 and gave up a run on five hits in eight innings. Nick Pivetta comes off a win over Boston, but the Phillies still have lost five of his seven starts this season and he is 1-3 with a 4.46 ERA overall. Pivetta gave up four runs in five innings against the Cardinals earlier in the season.
