St. Louis at Philadelphia

The Cards are making a push to not only make the playoffs, but to win it all and the addition of Matt Holliday is just another All-Star piece to add to the puzzle. The Cards have a stable bullpen, and one of the top staffs in baseball and rank No. 3 in overall ERA. They have blown just eight games with their pen, a number bested by just three teams. The Phillies are coming back to Earth after a torrid stretch and have now lost two out of three. Matt Holliday was inserted right behind Pujols last night and immediately paid dividends by delivering four hits. The Cards have struggled against lefthand pitching at 3.7 runs per game, but against righthanders, they are a full run better at 4.7 per game. The Phillies are lethal against lefthanders at 22-11, but have been quite ordinary against righties at 32-29. This is a good spot for a live dog here, so I'll go with the Cards in this one.
