St. Louis at Oakland

It didn't look like it could get worse for the Oakland A's last year after losing 102 games in 2022. Well, it did, as the A's followed that up with 112 loses last season. Oakland has gotten off to a better start this season at 7-9, but this remains a franchise devoid of significant talent. The offense puts a lot of pressure on the pitching staff as the A's are averaging a woeful 2.94 runs per game. They will take on Sonny Gray who was impressive in his first start in a St. Louis uniform in a 3-0 Cardinal win. Gray has won two of his last three starts vs Oakland, one of which came via shutout, and in those three starts the A's managed to push across just seven total runs. I like St. Louis in this one.
