The bats were booming in Game 1 as Milwaukee out-slugged St. Louis 9-6 to take a 1-0 series lead. I don't expect to see the same in Game 2. The Brewers assembled the best regular season home record in MLB this season, and have continued that dominance in the post-season already at 4-0 at home. Edwin Jackson has come up big for the Cardinals with 12 of his last 13 yielding 3 runs or less. Shaun Marcum did not fare well in his last two outings, but is 2-1 vs. St. Louis this year, and his last outing against the Cardinals was spotless as he worked 7 innings of shutout baseball. St. Louis continued their struggle on the road in Game 1, as they are now 3-10 in their last 13 League Championship road games. The Brewers have been at their best at home vs. right-hand pitching where they are now an impressive 42-10 in their last 52, and they also own an almost unbeatable 47-12 mark in their last 59 as a favorite. The Cardinals enter game two with a 12-5 mark to the UNDER in their last 17 League Championship Series games, while Milwaukee has played just one OVER the total in Marcum’s last nine starts as a favorite, and just three have eclipsed the total in his last 15 starts overall. Play on Milwaukee and take the UNDER in this one.
