St. Louis recently had a 17-game win streak to gain a playoff spot, but Los Angeles won an astounding 106 games while still finishing in second place in the NL West. The Dodgers are 58-23 at home in 2021 and they have won 40 of their past 53 home games, 41 of 52 overall. Los Angeles has won seven of the last 10 meetings, including five of the last six at Dodger Stadium. The Cardinals are 1-6 their last seven playoff games. Max Scherzer is 15-4 with a 2.46 ERA and his team has won his 13 starts, including two when he was with Washington. Scherzer has faced the Cardinals twice this season and allowed no earned runs on 10 hits in 14 innings. Adam Wainwright had one of his best seasons ever, but he did give up four runs on seven hits in 8 1/3 innings in his only start against the Dodgers on Sept. 8.
