St. Louis is getting pitching from unsuspecting places that is holding them in the playoffs chase in the NL Central. The problem has been Adam Wainwright and his projected 20+ team wins in his starts will miss the season. His mound-mate Chris Carpenter is also penciled in for 20+ team wins, but is leaking oil at the quarter pole with just one win and an ERA approaching 5. Has Carpenter at 35-years-old started to slip? He may be of that age, but this Royals team is coming of age, especially at home where they are 16-11 on the season. The Cards are now just 2-8 behind Carpenter on the road in his last 10 road starts. Kansas City is 5-2 in their last seven vs. the NL Central, and tonight it is a Royal flush, so Kansas City gets the call.
