St. Louis at Houston

The Cardinals missed a golden opportunity to get even with the Braves in the NL wildcard chase. The Braves dropped their game to the Phillies, but the Cards lost in the bottom of the ninth here last night to Houston. The Astros have lost over 100 games, and have really struggled when it comes to beating good teams more than once time in a row. All season the Astros have accomplished that feat just three times, putting the Cardinals, with so much to play for, in the catbird seat for this game. The Astros are 18-41 at home in their last 59 vs. a right-hand pitcher, and just 9-27 at home vs. better than .500 teams. The Cards enter at 39-16 in their last 55 as a road favorite of -151 to -200.
