Detroit won on a walk-off homer by Jeimer Candelario on Friday night. The Cardinals will bounce back with Jack Flaherty on the mound as they have won five of his last six starts. The only loss in that span was at Washington on Monday when he allowed only a run on three hits in five innings. Flaherty has a 2.83 ERA overall this season and he's 5-2 with a 2.24 ERA since the All-Star break. St. Louis still has won 20 of its last 28 games and 12 of its last 15 on the road. Also, the Cardinals have won 13 of their last 16 versus left-handed starters. The Tigers have lost four of Matt Boyd's last five interleague starts and 15 of his last 22 starts against teams with winning records dating to last season. St. Louis is hanging onto the second Wild Card spot and can't afford many losses. Play the Cardinals.
