St. Louis at Cincinnati

Great matchup here as St. Louis starts Cy Young winner Chris Carpenter who is 10-6 with a 3.06 ERA including 6-3 on the road. The Reds counter with Aaron Harang who is 12-7 and 5-3 at home. Harang has pitched well against St. Louis of late and Carpenter has been losing to Cincinnati. But I think that changes tonight. With Carpenter on the mound the Cards are 42-15 over hte past two seasons including 20-6 on the road. Despite his losses, Carpenter has a 2.17 ERA vs. the Reds vs. Harang's lifetime 4.08 against St. Louis. Big bullpen difference in the favor of St. Louis here too. St. Louis is scoring 5.6 per game over their last seven games and Cincinnati struggles against right handers in general. Cards with Carpenter for relatively small price.
