St. Louis at Atlanta

It has been a magical year for Kyle Lohse who finished the regular season at 16-3. That doesn't quite tell the whole story, however. The Cardinals won seven of his first eight starts, but from that point on they were just 14-11 when Lohse took the mound. Overall they suffered nine additional losses after he left the game, where he was credited with no decision. What has been more magical and downright scary is Kris Medlen. Medlen started the year in the bullpen, but was inserted into the rotation long enough to see the Braves go 12-0 in his 12 starts, as he pitched to a dazzling 0.98 ERA. What is more impressive is that the Braves are 23-0 in his last 23 starts - truly unbeatable. When you then look at what comes behind Medlen and see Craig Kimbrel, the Braves look to be unbeatable here. Kimbrel has pitched to a 1.01 ERA with 116 strikeouts in 62.2 innings, or close to 16 strikeouts per 9 innings. The Braves’ arms will be too much for St. Louis to overcome, especially on the road. Play on Atlanta.
