The Cards come in at 19-11 without Albert Puhols, Adam Wainwright doing little and Chris Carpenter on the shelf. One reason is the pitching of Kevin Lohse, but he is a pedestrian 28-27 the last four years in a Cardinals uniform, so don't expect it to last as signs point to a reversion back to ordinary with his last two starts having been his worst two of the season. The D-backs have been excited about Wade Miley for quite some time and he has delivered in a big way carrying a 2.33 ERA into this contest. Lohse and the Cards are leaking oil on the road to a total of 9-10.5 where they are a woeful 5-16 in their last 21, the same spot where the D-backs have flourished at 6-0 behind Miley in the same total range.
