St. Louis at Arizona

The St. Louis Cardinals have had a tough time shaking the surging Pittsburgh Pirates as their lead in the NL Central has shrunk to 3.5 games. The Cards do not swing the bats particularly well, and find themselves in their softest spot, facing left handed pitching. The Cards on the season are 66-32 vs. a right handed starter, where they score 4.1 runs a game, but when they square off with a south paw, they are a very pedestrian team at 12-13, and the scoring dips from 4.1 to 3.5.
