After losing 101 games a year ago, who would have thought that the Seattle Mariners would be a road favorite unless Felix Hernandez was on the mound? They have another emerging ace on the mound in 6'7" Michael Pineda. Pineda has dazzled in his big league debut at 7-4 on the season with a 2.64 ERA. The Mariners have held 30 opponents on the season to 2 runs or less, and Pineda has been a big reason. It’s hard to find the M's as chalk last season, but now they are 13-3 in their last 16 in the role of a favorite. The Nats come in with a 53-109 mark in their last 162 vs. a starter with a WHIP of 1.15 or less, says they are overmatched here. Take Seattle in this one.
