Seattle at Texas

Texas comes into this game with an interim manager, Don Wakamatsu, following the firing of Jeff Banister on Friday. The Rangers won a rain-shortened game over the Mariners last night and now send what has been their best pitcher of late, Mike Minor, to the mound. Texas has won six of his last eight starts and he's allowed more than two runs just once his last nine starts. Also, the left-hander has done his best work at home where he is 6-3 with a 3.32 ERA and .210 opponent batting average. In addition, Minor is 6-1 with a 2.72 ERA since the All-Star break. Seattle has lost Marco Gonzalez's last six starts and he's 2-4 with a 6.59 ERA since the All-Star break. Gonzalez has faced the Rangers twice this year and given up eight runs (seven earned) on 16 hits in 11 2/3 innings. Texas has won four of its last five versus left-handed starters and it has won five of the last seven meetings with the Mariners.  Go with the Rangers.
