Seattle beat the Rangers 3-1 on Tuesday to climb within four games of a wild-card spot and the Mariners have won five of their past six games and have Marco Gonzales on the mound tonight. Gonzales threw a complete game against Texas on Thursday while allowing a run on two hits in a 3-1 victory and he has given up only six runs his last five starts in 32 1/3 innings. Texas hitters are batting just .231 against him in 89 at-bats with one home run. Mike Foltynewicz somehow is still in the major leagues with a 2-11 record and 5.66 ERA overall and 2-5 and 6.79 in night games this year. Seattle is 20-8 the past 28 meetings and Texas has lost 50 of its past 70 games and already looking at evaluating rookies for next season while Seattle fights for a postseason spot. Take the Mariners.
