St. Louis is in a heated chase for the NL Central Title, and they played like a team feeling pressure last night. They escaped with a 2-1 win in 10 innings, netting just four hits, with both runs unearned. James Paxton was impressive in his major league debut for the Mariners, allowing one earned run over six innings while getting the win. This game should be another pitcher's duel, and test the meddle of the Cards, who seem to be feeling the pressure throughout their lineup.
