Seattle's hitters hope to have better luck going on the road after getting swept by Detroit while scoring only three runs, including getting no-hit. They'll have Chris Flexen on the mound for this one, and they have won his last four starts as he owns a 4-1 record and a 3.46 ERA. Only one Padres hitter has faced him, and that's Victor Caratini, who is 0-for-1. Chris Paddack has a 5.54 ERA for San Diego and has allowed 20 runs (15 earned) in only 30 1/3 innings. Also, Paddack has been worse at home where he has given up eight earned runs on 13 hits in 13 innings. The teams split six meetings in 2020 and the Padres have lost four of their last five interleague home games. Seattle has won five of six following an off day. Take the Mariners.
