Taking a closer look, their hitting has betrayed them during the 17-game slide, as they have produced 4 or fewer runs in 14 of their last 17 games. However, there are signs of change, as Seattle has scored 4+ runs in consecutive games for the first time since June 23. The Padres have cooled off after a sizzling 9-1 stretch. The Padres have gone just 3-4 since, as the pitching has been lit up for 24 total runs in the last three games. I see a pair of teams trending opposite of where they both were not to long ago, and the edge goes to Seattle in this one.
