The Seattle Mariners have pitched their way into a potential Wild Card playoff appearance, while the once pitching strong Phillies have labored through a very poor season. A.J. Burnett has not won a game since June 20th, but hasn't pitched as bad as that, especially at home where his ERA on the season is 3.36. Seattle has lost two of their last three behind Iwakuma on the road, and certainly are far from a slam dunk in this one. Seattle is an ugly 1-7 on the road in their last eight interleague games vs. a right-hander, and 0-6 on the road in their last six interleague contests vs. a losing team. Philly is now 4-0 in their last four interleague home games, and have stepped up against strong pitching at 6-2 in their last eight vs. a pitcher with a WHIP of 1.15 or less. Play on Philadelphia.
