Seattle at Philadelphia

The rubber game of the three-game series between Seattle and Philadelphia is an afternoon game. The Phillies' inconsistent offense has been shut out three times in the last 11 games. They will face George Kirby who has led Seattle to a 17-9 mark over his last 26 starts, and opponents have scored two or fewer runs in 11 of those. Matt Strahm has not been nearly as good. Strahm has led his team to a 12-16 record in 28 starts, and recently that number craters to 4-8 in his last 12 starts. Opponents have scored five or more runs in nine of the 12. I think there is a clear edge for the Mariners in this one, and the play is on Seattle.
