Seattle at Oakland

Seattle is in good position to make the postseason, but the Mariners need to reverse a recent losing trend as they have lost six of their past seven, including 2-1 to Oakland on Wednesday. Fortunately, they have George Kirby starting today and the Mariners have won three of its last four starts. Kirby has a 2.98 ERA and 1.12 WHIP this season and September has been his best month. Kirby has faced the Athletics three times this year and allowed only five runs in 18 innings. Adrian Martinez has lost his last two starts while yielding 11 runs on 18 hits in just 8 2/3 innings and he has a 6.38 ERA at home. Also, in one appearance against Seattle, Martinez was bombarded for seven runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings.
