Seattle at Oakland

The Mariners have to wonder what to expect from Jerrod Washburn who was scratched from his Saturday start and pushed back to tonight because of a bad left knee. Washburn is a lefthander, and that means that is his landing knee. That might not help him out of his struggles that have seen him allow 10 runs in 11 innings over his last two starts. Dallas Braden has pitched well for the A's as he has allowed more than three runs in just one of his nine starts on the season. The Mariners looked like they were ready to regroup after a horrendous '08, as they were out of the gate at 12-6, but since then have looked a lot like the '08 team that lost 101 games. The Mariners are just 9-19 since, and have scored one run or less in 10 of the 28, and three or less in 17 of 28, and are just 2-11 in their last 13 on the road. I like the A's in this one.
