The M's have been limiting teams to four runs per less during this stretch, which is critical given that they are 28th in the majors with a 3.7 runs per game scoring average. Oakland isn't scoring much more, but at 25-38, they are miles ahead of where this team was last season. Southpaw JP Sears will take the mound for the home side today, and he has posted a 2-0 record with a 1.65 ERA vs. the Mariners in six appearances against them.
