This game may offer some evidence of which one of these teams can stay in contention and land a playoff spot. Chris Flexen has offered some help to the Seattle rotation as they are 12-4 in his 16 starts, but there is always the issue of the Mariners' offense. There is also the issue of Flexen's presence on the road. Opponents have scored 31 runs in his last three road starts. He will be opposed by Andrew Heaney, who got off to a bad start this season but has found something as the Angels have a winning record in his last seven starts, and have won three of his last four at home.
