The soft-hitting Mariners have hung a pair of 9s on the Royals in the first two games of this series, but are an unlikely sweep candidate. They have gone 58-122 in their last 180 as a road dog. Kevin Millwood has not been able to contribute to stopping that woeful road-dog number, as the M's are 0-4 in his last four starts as a road dog. Seattle has even more problems as they have been very soft vs. left-hand pitching where they are 30-68 in their last 98 games when facing them. Bruce Chen has struggled of late vs. good teams, allowing 6 runs in each of his last three starts. The good news is that the Royals are 4-0 in his last four starts as a favorite. When the M's come off of scoring 15 or more runs in two straight games, they are just 1-3. Remember in the seven games prior to this, they scored 2 or less in five of them. Play on Kansas City.
