Seattle at Kansas City

This is the fourth straight road game for Seattle on a dismal trip. The third-place Mariners opened a seven-game road swing by losing three in Houston and are nine games behind first-place Texas in the AL West. Starter James Paxton has been dismal, too, allowing 28 hits, seven walks and 13 runs his last three starts (18+ innings). He is much better at home, with a losing road mark along with a 5.19 ERA. The Mariners are 3-9 in Paxton's last 12 road starts. Kansas City is dominant at home, on a 37-14 run here. Lefty Danny Duffy started off the season in relief but they keep increasing his workload as a starter and now he's on a roll, with 87 strikeouts, 16 walks in 75+ innings. He allowed two runs on seven hits, struck out eight and walked none over 8.2 innings in a victory over the Phillies on Saturday. Over the last 16.2 innings, he's allowed just four runs (2.16 ERA) and struck out 16 with no walks. Duffy also has a 1.69 ERA in five career appearances (three starts) against Seattle and the Royals are 37-15 at home against a team with a winning record. Take Kansas City.
