Justin Verlander is out for a while so Josh James will make a rare start after appearing in 49 games last season all as a reliever except once. Kendall Graveman will be making his first appearance since 2018 after returning from Tommy John surgery. Seattle got it's first victory of the season beating the Astros 7-6 on Sunday as Kyle Lewis hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the eighth. It was a breakthrough win for the Mariners, who had lost 15 in a row to Houston.
