Seattle at Detroit

Seattle has won Bryce Miller's past three starts, including 6-0 over the New York Mets on Friday when he threw six shutout innings on three hits. He had a 1.80 ERA in July, allowing just five runs in 25 innings. Detroit is short on a starting pitcher, so it will go with another bullpen game today with Alex Faedo, the first one on the mound, and he'll likely go an inning or two. The Tigers are 0-6 in their past six games when Faedo starts against teams with winning records. The Mariners had won four in a row before losing the first two games of this series, and they need to stay close to Houston, which is 2 1/2 games ahead in the AL West. Seattle has won seven of eight after losing the first two games of a series, and they have won Miller's past four outings when he has five days rest.
