Seattle at Detroit

Detroit looks to have turned things around after a rough stretch last week. The Tigers have won three straight after exploding for 19 runs on 24 hits last night. Seattle is now just 2-10 on the road and in last place in the AL West. Daniel Norris had two quality starts before lasting only 4 2/3 innings at Tampa Bay, however, that loss was largely due to a poor Tigers defense that day. Norris had a streak of 22 consecutive starts allowing three or fewer runs broken in that game. James Paxton gave up five runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings in a 9-6 loss at Oakland on Thursday, and he allowed four runs on 11 hits in just 7 2/3 innings against Detroit in 2016. Seattle is #28 in the majors with a .560 OPS against left-handers and also #28 with a .186 batting average versus southpaws. The Mariners are 7-15 in Paxton's last 22 road starts and Detroit has won five in a row against the Mariners at home. Take the Tigers.
