The issue is that the oddsmakers pad their lines, anticipating a lot of action on the hot team. Seattle goes for the series sweep in Chicago this afternoon. Teams on an eight-game winning streak have a -11% ROI covering nearly 300 games. The numbers are worse when posted as a road favorite, as the ROI plummets to -16.8%. In the third game of a series when the road favorite has won the first two, the ROI is a woeful -23.4%. What looks easy here has been quite the opposite. I will make the play on the Chicago White Sox.
