The Seattle Mariners simply don't hit. I was on the Birds last night despite the fact they were facing one of the top pitchers in baseball in Felix Hernandez. The Mariners have had a losing record on the road even with Hernandez, because they simply don't hit enough and without him, they are in deeper trouble. Baltimore is much improved with Showalter at the helm, as he is getting a lot out of the players he inherited. Zach Britton is emerging into a quality pitcher at 5-2 backed by a 2.93 ERA. The Mariners are a putrid 5-17 in Vargas' last 23 road starts, and have also been 16-41 in their last 57 vs. a southpaw. This one goes to Baltimore.
