San Francisco at Washington

It has been a disappointing season for both these teams, and time is not on their sides. The defending champion Giants are 13 games below .500, and at this point are needing a miracle to even get the opportunity to defend. Gio Gonzalez had a horrible start a couple games back, allowing 10 earned runs, but he has surrounded that debacle with quality starts in all 12 appearances, allowing a grand total of 17 runs in the 12 starts. Madison Bumgarner has strung together some quality starts for San Francisco, but it is hard to ignore the Giants 0-6 record in his last six starts to a total of 6.5 or less. The Giants are just 14-29 in their last 43 overall, and just 4-12 in their last 16 vs. a lefthander. The Nats are 10-1 in their last 11 at home vs. a club that is under .500. The Giants may not score here, and I like Washington on the run line.

0.5 unit on Washington -1.5 runs +175 (runline) (risk 0.5 to return 0.5)
