The St. Louis Cardinals just dropped two of three at home to the Yankees, but overall this team is starting to come around. The Giants own some solid pitching and have played well themselves, but in the six meetings last year, the Cardinals solved that pitching in a big way as they tallied a 37-12 edge in runs scored in those six games. Ryan Vogelsong has not been able to solve the Cards' lineup over his career as he has made 17 appearances against them, seven as a starter, and his ERA is a problematic 6.71, and he is just 2-5. Jaime Garcia had surgery last season and is rounding into form this season, and has mastered the Giants with a 2-1 record backed by a magnificent 1.27 ERA against them in four career starts. The Giants struggles vs. the NL Central are well noted at 10-23 in their last 33, including 2-5 in their last seven in St. Louis. The Cardinals are a great bounce-back team at 38-15 in their last 53 when following a loss. Go with St. Louis.
