San Francisco at San Diego

The Giants and Padres have split the first two games of this four game series. The Giants will start Jordan Hicks who competed eight starts for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2022, but did not make a start last season. His final four starts of 2022 saw opponents pile on 33 total runs, so finding himself in the number three spot in the rotation is telling of the lack of starting pitching the Giants have entering the season. San Diego will turn to Dylan Cease who has a career mark of 67-57. Cease came over from the Chicago White Sox and will be making his debut in a Padre uniform. The good news is in two career starts vs. the Giants, Cease is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA. I think the Padres have a solid chance to take a leg up in this series as they are also 8-3 in the last 11 games at home vs San Francisco. Make the play on San Diego.
