The San Francisco Giants are off to a slow start, but they do have a great chance of winning today vs. San Diego. Not only is Madison Bumgarner a top-of-the-rotation pitcher, and a top five in all of MLB, but he slugged a pair of home runs in his first start as well. It is like playing a game with both an ace on the hill, as well as a DH, since he hits so well and is a bona fide threat at the plate. He will square of with Jhoulys Chacin, who has a pretty bad career record at 59-77. When he takes the ball teams have averaged 4.6 runs per game against him. To put that in perspective, when Bumgarner takes the hill and his team plates four runs or more they are 99-23, winning better than four of every five. Go with the ace and take San Francisco.
