Matt Morris pitches for the first time with his new team as he has traded in the red and white of the cardinal uniform for the black and beige of San Francisco. Morris was 15-11 last year with an era of just above 4 where as his counterpart Shawn Estes was 7-9 with a 4.8 era. There are several reasons why I like this matchup with one of them being that Morris is that Morris gave up 4 earned runs in 13 innings of work against the Padres. On the other had, Estes gave up 7 earned runs in 2 innings of work to the Giants in a Arizona Diamondback uniform and I don't expect much to change in a Padres uniform. Furthermore, the Giants come off a loss with their ace Jason Scmidt losing the first game and look to bounce back this game and considering that the Giants are 5-1 in their last 6 games versus a left-hander and the Padres are 3-7 in their last 10 games as a home dog, let's take Matt Morris to show a good outing with his new team on a bounce back game which hits well against lefties against a Padres team with a weaker offense.
