San Francisco at Philadelphia

The Giants appear to be on a mission, having won five of their last six and dispatching with the "unbeatable" Roy Halladay last night. That has got to hurt the psyche of the Phils, at least a bit. San Francisco has really struggled to score, but it hasn't mattered as their pitching has been lights-out. They have allowed just 2.4 runs per game in the playoffs and 2.3 per game over their last seven. Jonathan Sanchez was pulled up for this game due in part to his success against the Phillies this season. The Giants are 22-12 this season with Sanchez starting. In his road starts, Sanchez has posted a 2.74 ERA which is markedly better than Oswalt's 3.28 ERA at home this season. As an underdog of +125 to +175 this season, Sanchez is a perfect 5-0. The Phillies are just 10-9 this season at home with Oswalt taking the mound. So we are getting a very hot team with an excellent pitcher, at great odds here. If you are conservative, you could certainly play the Giants at +1.5 runs here, but I like these underdog odds straight-up.
