Jake Peavy has certainly pitched much better than his record indicates. He pitched for most of the season with a bad Boston team, and since being traded to San Francisco he has seemed to be pitching much better. Peavy has made seven starts for San Francisco since the trade, and has pitched to a 2.66 ERA. Ricky Porcello has had a breakout year at 15-9 and a solid 3.10 ERA for the season. He seems to be hitting the wall, however, as he has now lost four times in his last six starts. The Giants own a 7-3 record in their last 10 interleague tilts vs. a right-hander, while they have been perfect to low totals in winning their last five when the total is from 7 to 8.5. Porcello has not been able to stop the bleeding as the Tigers are 0-5 in his last five starts when following a team loss in their previous game. Take San Francisco in this one.
