San Francisco broke out of its hitting slump and scored eight runs on Tuesday after scoring a total of just one run its previous three games, but the Giants still lost 11-8 as the Cubs banged out 15 hits. The Giants will try again today to get a win and they have Alex Wood starting for the first time in 10 appearances as the past nine have been in relief. Wood is 4-2 with a 3.65 ERA in his career against the Cubs. Chicago will counter with Jordan Wicks, who will make just his third start and has given up two runs on seven hits in 10 innings.
