The San Diego Padres built their team to compete with LA in the rugged NL West. The Padres looked the part through June where they held a record of 49-33. They have since fallen apart and have been 26-38 over their last 64 games, yet they are still well in the thick of things for a wild card spot. This is a dangerous team, that if they can finish strong and make the playoffs they will be a tough out. They came into this series beating the Giants 2 straight but lost the opener.
