San Diego at St. Louis

The San Diego Padres have not pitched or hit consistently all season, but they have not quit, and the pitching has been considerably better lately. San Diego has allowed more than five runs a game this season, but over their last eight games just one team has scored as many as five runs against them. Last night the offense exploded for 12 runs against the slumping Cardinals, who after putting together an eight-game winning streak, have fallen off sharply at just a woeful 2-6 since. The prideful staff of St. Louis has been burned for five runs or more in 12 straight games, and has averaged just a tick shy of seven runs per contest in the 12 games. This is a good spot for San Diego, catching St. Louis at the right time. Take San Diego.
