San Diego at San Francisco

For the San Diego Padres and the San Francisco Giants, the season has been over for quote a long time. The Padres were not expected to be a factor in the NL West, so no surprise there. The Giants, however, have had a disappointing season after having a lot of recent success. Today they should have the mental and emotional edge as this is the swan song of Matt Cain, who announced his retirement from baseball earlier this week. He has had a very good career in San Francisco, and was instrumental in the Giants' parade of World Series wins over the past several years. The Giants should have a vocal crowd, and the players should all be putting forth an extra effort to send Cain out a winner. It's tough playing out the string on the road, so don't expect much resistance for San Diego in this one. Make the play on San Francisco.
