The Giants are secure in their position atop the NL West, and have nothing to worry about except keeping their players fresh and setting their rotation set for the playoffs. San Diego has emerged late to play their best baseball of the season, capping things off at 20-9 down the stretch. Madison Bumgarner has become very hittable in his last five starts for the Giants where he has allowed 4 or more runs in four of the five. The Padres have not just beaten some of the also-rans around the league, they own an impressive 14-3 mark in their last 17 vs. a winning team. The Padres are playing hard, while the Gants have no reason to be focused here. Play on San Diego.
