The San Francisco Giants have been patiently waiting for the Barry Zito of old to show up, and to open 2010 he has, and then some. Zito is off to a perfect 5-0 start backed by a stellar 1.49 ERA. The oddsmakers are treating this one with little respect, so the value is huge here. When you consider the Giants as being one of the top home teams in baseball on top of it, more value is extracted. The Giants are 25-8 at home vs. teams with a winning road record, and now 9-1 behind Zito after scoring 5+ in their previous game. The Padres’ number has been up facing a pitcher with a WHIP of under 1.15 as they are a dreadful 13-39 in their last 52 games. The Giants get this one.
