This San Diego team continues to fly under the radar despite winning seven straight games, and despite being saddled as the underdog in five of them. Since starting 5-15, the Padres have been an impressive 31-19 playing better baseball than any other team over their last 50 games. Once again they are an underdog, and are simply steeped in value. After winning it all a year ago, San Francisco has had its problems. They enter this game with a woeful 12-19 mark over their last 31. Matt Cain may be 5-3 on the season but his 4.70 ERA tells a different story. He is matched up against Andrew Cashner who is a similar 5-3, but a 3.52 ERA on the season which is better than a run better than Cain. Cashner has been better, and so have the Padres. This is a good spot for the dog, so back San Diego.
