San Diego at San Francisco

The Giants may be the worst team in baseball this season, and 100 losses is not far fetched for this team. They do have some good young arms in Cain and Lincecum, but they aren't pitching tonight. Jonathon Sanchez was brought in as a reliever, but desperation caused the Giants to convert him to a starter. He made four September starts last season and was shelled. He made his '08 debut and was hit very hard. He now has logged 20.1 innings in five starts, barely making it through the 4th inning on average, and has allowed 31 hits, 20 earned runs, and 5 HRs. His ERA is an off-the-charts 8.85. Justin Germano threw blanks at the Dodgers for six innings, and has to be feeling confident entering this start. He began '07 at 5-0, but gradually showed signs of fatigue as the year went on and finished poorly. He appears fresh again, and as good as he looked early last year, he has that look again and we will back a mismatch here at short odds.
