Yes, this is a home game for the Pirates and a road game for the Padres. So what? San Diego is 27-20 on the road while Pittsburgh owns a losing home record. Neither team can score a lot, but San Diego's offense is better than Pittsburgh's. The Pads have found some offense of late, scoring 5+ runs in seven of their last nine games. Over that span, they are averaging 6.2 runs per game. Pittsburgh's bigger problem of course, is pitching and defense. This team allows 5.4 runs per game (5.7 in day games) and today they start a pitcher in Brad Lincoln who owns a 6.29 ERA. San Diego has feasted on bad teams like Pittsburgh this season as they are 16-5 vs. teams that get outscored by 1+ run per game. The Pirates are 11-41 dating back to last season vs. NL teams with an OBP of .325 or better. Enough said.
