San Diego at New York

The New York Mets squandered their lead over the Atlanta Braves late in the season and were swept in their final series vs Atlanta costing them the NL East Crown. They will open the playoffs as a 101-win wildcard team and will send Max Scherzer to the mound at home vs the San Diego Padres. San Diego wasn't that great down the stretch finishing at 3-6 in their final 9 games. Scherzer is 7-3 in his last 10 starts vs San Diego, including a pair of shutouts in his last 4 starts against them. It's clear the Mets have been the better team all season and they got back on track after their disappointing series vs Atlanta to come into the playoffs off 3 straight wins. I like the New York Mets in this one.
